Business is Booming

November 20 – A record number of women took the Grace Outreach placement test in October, and more importantly, attendance a month later remains sky-high. When times were flush in New York, it was a bit easier for an individual to get by without a high school education, and to for the city to mask its high dropout rates and low test scores, particularly in vulnerable urban neighborhoods.

But as the employment crunch is felt all up and down the career ladder, and especially on the bottom rungs, the ability of less-educated people to obtain even entry-level jobs is sinking, indirectly proportional to the rising education level needed to attain it.

At Grace Outreach, we’re also seeing a group less visible in the media but significant in real life: women who have decades of work experience in high-responsibility roles and are just now hitting career ceilings created by a lack of formal academic credentials.

Overlay this macro factor with the micro factor of the solid work being done here at Grace Outreach. Our main source of advertising is word-of-mouth, and having produced 575 GED alumni in six years means that word is really getting out about our unique, successful and inspiring programs.

For women looking to enter the work force, or rise within it, Grace Outreach is proving to be the right place at the right time.
