Look Who’s Back With Brand New Success Stories!

You may remember reading a previous blog entry about our esteemed Grace Outreach student, Linda Smith. Well, now she is no longer an esteemed student but rather an esteemed alumna! Linda Smith aced her GED this summer but didn't stop there! She tested into the rigorous IT (information technology) and computer tech training program - Per Scholas! And because it wouldn't be very characteristic of Linda to keep all of her success and motivation to herself, she encouraged her good friend and fellow GED achieving rockstar, Alva Reyes to take the Per Scholas entrance exam and enroll in the program as members of Per Scholas' all female cohort.
Per Scholas is known for its serious approach to IT training and rigorous academics. When first starting the program, all students are placed on a 3 week probationary period where lateness and absences are absolutely not tolerated and every student must maintain a very high grade point average to continue training in the program. Well, Linda and Alva have done exactly that! Both passed through their probationary period with flying colors and have been acing exams left and right on their way to exciting and lucrative careers in the IT field. They're learning everything from how to build a computer from scratch, to how to fix a computer that is broken, how to network multiple computers, set up servers, and even how to handle computer security systems! Very high tech stuff.
Linda and Alva are excellent examples of the level of drive and motivation found in so many Grace Outreach students. All of us over here at GO are so very proud of you guys, you are such an inspiration to the entire GO community. We can't wait to hear more about your amazing accomplishments!
