Workforce1 Bronx** Comprehensive, community-based center offering job-preparation classes, job placement, career counseling and more.
Grace Institute Provides business skills training and career counseling to women of all ages and backgrounds.
First Step Job Training Program that empowers homeless women to achieve self-sufficiency and find employment through computer skills training
Bronx Works ** Bronx Works is a comprehensive social services center with a built-out workforce development department. Everything from job skill training to resume writing to job placement services are located in their Employment Center (see website for directions).
Non-Traditional Employment for Women NYC non-profit that trains women and places them in careers in the skilled construction, utility and maintenance trades, helping women achieve economic independence and a secure future.
Phipps Opportunity Center ** A multi-service non-profit with an emphasis on educational, vocational and community development programs. The career readiness program is based out of their West Farms Technology Center, and provides individualized job counseling and search assistance.
East Side Settlement House ** Mott Haven based organization with a host of social services from infancy to senior citizens. Included are college prep, career internships, adult education, and technology training.
Dress 4 Success ** While Dress 4 Success is best known for providing professional attire to women around the country, they have a Bronx-based branch that also offers career counseling, computer labs, technology training, and one-on-one job search assistance.
SOBRO ** A South Bronx community-based organization that offers a host of program in adult education, computer literacy, employer-customized training, job placement, and career counseling.
Sustainable South Bronx ** An organization that addresses environmental and social concerns through green job training, youth development, and environmental awareness programs.
Strive New York Based in East Harlem, Strive offers comprehensive job-training and placement programs, as well as social services tailored to women, youth and fathers.
Vocational Foundation Located in Lower Manhattan, the Vocational Foundation has been offering job-readiness training programs since 1936. Along with technical training, the Foundation instills 'soft skills' in its clients, such as conflict resolution, workplace communication and customer service training.
Per Scholas** Per Scholas uses technology, computer and vocational training, and computer recycling to improve lives. Located in the South Bronx, Per Scholas provides a comprehensive computer technician training program with internship opportunities.
